Make Packages useful?

Interested in how many people are actually using Packages for managing tickets/deployments. I find myself (and therefore my teams) continuing to use applications for each ticket because there's just not enough traceability with Packages. In order for me to use Packages, I would want: a) traceability across environments (i want to be able to see the package structure in target environments instead of losing all that info) b) traceability from objects to packages (sometimes i want to see if what app/package an object is in. With apps i can check, but I'm not aware of a way to do that for packages). Thought it might be a beneficial to start a discussion to see if other people have similar thoughts, if there's something I don't know, and/or if there are other features to suggest to improve the usability of packages
