Show interfaces without adding to task queue, without all the extra hoops of quick tasks!

I think it's pretty common these days to want to show user input tasks without having the task add to queue. I've always handled this by configuring the ui task as a quick task, but then there's all sorts of annoying crap to deal with due to the automatic generation of the duplicate instance of the node after task submission. Kinda mind-blowing that by now we don't just have a "don't add to task queue" checkbox!! UNLESS there's something I don't know. Seems like a pretty easy fix for Appian too, no?
